We are making a change to the sequence of which quizzes are in which weeks. To wit:
We’re making this change because week 6 is a good week to have a quiz in LA (we will have just finished chapter 3 in Strang) and a poor week to have a quiz in DE (we will have just started chapter 7 in Boas).
Other than that, we anticipate the rest of the quiz schedule to be what’s on the syllabus: week 8 quizzes in DE and LA.
I’ve written up a detailed example of Gaussian elimination (click here), and I wanted you to get it right away, in case you’re working on the LA homework this evening. I’ll bring paper copies of this handout to class tomorrow. If you can, please read through it before Thursday’s class. -BW
