- review the Syllabus for information about your note sheet; you will be provided with the inside covers of Taylor so that information need not be on your note sheet

Winter Quarter Tutoring

In addition to QuaSR Center hours, tutoring hours in the Cave are:

Tutoring begins Fri. 1/11. Pyxie won’t be available on 1/11 but will be available on Fridays from 5 – 7 in subsequent weeks.

I might be late to QM on Thu. Jan. 10.

If I am not to class by our start time at 9:30, please form into workshop groups and work on this week’s QM homework together.

Please remember to begin by checking in with each other and establishing community agreements.

When I arrive, we will finish our discussion on calculating ΔS_z, and then we’ll go over Problem 1.3.

Notes:

You need the results of Problem 1.10 for 1.11 and 1.12. You can check your results for <S_z> and <S_y> as directed in the problem statement. You should find that <S_x> = 0.
Problems 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7 will be assigned as part of QM PS#2, so after completing this week’s set, you may choose to begin on those problems. We will complete Problem 1.3 together during class on Thu. Jan. 10; Problems 1.4-1.7 are based on Problem 1.3.

The first APLS meeting will start at 9am Wed. Jan. 9 in Lab 2 2238.
This week, there is nothing to prepare in advance.
Come prepared to take notes.
Lab 2 2238 is a regular lab space, so please wear attire appropriate for a lab room.
