Faculty Notes | Hirsh Diamant | 2022-2023

In March of 2023 Hirsh Diamant lead a group of Evergreen students on a study abroad in India and Vietnam. They signed agreements of cooperation with Nha Trang University in Vietnam and DSVV University in Haridwar, India, opening opportunities for future visits and collaborations between faculty and students of Evergreen and these universities. This work continued in the new program of Virtual Tourism at Evergreen where students met weekly on zoom with students from universities in China, India, and Vietnam in symposiums on culture, health, cultural heritage, and social and environmental justice

Hirsh’s research in Dao Mau culture of Mother Goddess in Vietnam allowed students to visit Dao Mau temples and learn how queer mediums transform understanding of gender.
