Commons Seminars

Several times a quarter, the Learning and Teaching Commons hosts discussions that focus on the unique nature of teaching (and learning) at Evergreen.  These conversations bring faculty together with diverse experiences teaching to seminar about issues and ideas that are germane to their teaching praxis.

2021-2022 Commons Seminar Series

Teaching at Evergreen: Emergent Strategies

Taking inspiration from this year’s common read, Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Shaping Worlds by adrienne marie brown, the 2021-2022 Commons Seminar series explores the strategies that faculty are developing and discovering to adapt their teaching practice to emerging contexts.

The Teaching at Evergreen series features faculty members of the Learning and Teaching Commons Advisory Council who will lead engaging discussions about elements that are core practices of teaching at Evergreen.  These seminars have been integrated into the New Faculty Academy and support Evergreen’s newest faculty in their first year.
