Dr. LeRoy published five articles with Evergreen students this year. Students A. Zinck, A. Bailey, P. Lamoureux, and A. Heetderks published “Measuring the effects of salmon presence on freshwater macroinvertebrate communities in streams in Thurston County, WA.” in the journal Metamorphosis. Students M. Thompson, L. Thompson, B. Kamakawiwo’ole, A. Froedin-Morgensen, and V. McConathy are co-authors on “Canopy development influences early successional stream ecosystem function but not biotic assemblages” which is in press in Aquatic Sciences. Students I. Garthwaite, M. Fisher, and A. Leigh were co-authors on a paper led by Georgetown University graduate student C. Minsavage-Davis titled “Spatial habitat structure assembles willow-dependent communities across the primary successional watersheds of Mount St. Helens, USA” in the journal Forests. Students I. Garthwaite, L. Lancaster, J. Moffett-Dobbs, K. Johnson, N. Criss, and V. McConathy, were co-authors on “The influence of weevil herbivory on leaf litter chemistry in dioecious willows” in the journal Ecology & Evolution. Finally, students B. Kamakawiwo’ole, and G. Weppler were co-authors on “Specimen records of benthic macroinvertebrate samples collected by Norman H. Anderson in the vicinity of Mount St. Helens, 1980-1990” in the journal of the Catalog of the Oregon State Arthropod Collection. [plus Cover Photo!]
