Dear colleagues,
For the last LTC Salon this quarter on the theme of Building Community in Virtual Spaces, I’m delighted to co-host with the Washington Center’s Instructional Designer Timothy Corvidae. This informal conversation may be most relevant if you’re teaching remote or hybrid classes, or if you’re interested in getting into facilitation strategies and challenges in non-traditional classrooms. Timothy has been working closely with PaCE faculty, and he brings deep thought and expertise to these issues. This is one opportunity to welcome him to Evergreen and pick his brain!
Salon doors are open 12:30-2:30 this Friday 12/1 – come when you can and leave when you need! We’ll be at the Learning and Teaching Commons (Sem II E3120) with tea, snacks, handouts, and enthusiasm.

The attached resource packet emphasizes fostering an online learning community. We are eager to chat with you about questions like:
– What do safety, trust and inclusion look like in a virtual space, and what techniques support them?
– How can we think creatively about expectations for “participation” in a remote class, and communicate these expectations to students?
– What tech tools and platforms can enhance online learning by offering new ways of interacting with peers and class materials?
