Ta’c aluxp, lowtewahs! Good afternoon, friends!
I’m writing to give some updates on winter quarter offerings from the Student Activities Office of Spirituality & Meaning Making. Please share with your students.
1:1 Spiritual Care Appointments:
A confidential, virtual appointment where students can explore issues related to belonging, purpose, identity, grief/loss, joy/celebration, personal and communal values, religious/spiritual discernment, and self-care. It can be a space for students to vent, be present to and process their own feelings, or learn practices that assist with grounding & centering. I provide a social and healing justice framework, help students connect with resources on and off campus, and provide mentorship and advocacy when needed. Students can email me directly at: bennettm@evergreen.edu to schedule an appointment.
Daily Mindfulness Practice:
Every weekday from 12pm to 12:10 pm, students, staff, and faculty can join together for ten minutes of mindfulness practice. This is a time of rest where we practice mindful breathing together as a community. You can join at zoom ID: 539 848 1581
Tarot-A-Day & Other Social Media Goodies:
Enjoy a daily tarot reading at the Student Activities Instagram page. Posted daily in our Instagram stories, I pull a tarot card and offer some insight and practices that might brighten your day. We also post information on student organizations and other happenings on campus. Follow us on Instagram: @studentactivities.evergreen
Writing as Self-Care:
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, January 27th, and in partnership with Student Wellness Services, we are hosting a weekly hour of writing practice as self-care. This is a virtual space for creative writing, journaling, and processing on paper. Prompts are provided and attendees are free to write the worst junk in the universe. Folx will have the opportunity to share their writing with each other. Every Wednesday from 11am -12pm. You can join at Zoom ID: 539 848 1581
If you have questions, please email me at: bennettm@evergreen.edu
If you are interested in having me speak to your program, I am currently reserving space on my calendar for spring quarter.
Thanks for your interest and support of this work and for sharing with students.
Enjoy the afternoon,
Melissa
