Hello All,
First Peoples, Campus Climate and Belonging is excited to continue our work around creating a more inclusive and supportive community. When looking at our campus climate survey it stated that only 14.9% of staff agree that Evergreen provides enough resources to foster the success of a diverse faculty and staff. 52.6% of our faculty of color have considered leaving Evergreen due to feeling unwelcome or isolated.

DEI work is not simply our work on campus it runs through aspects of life. To provide more resources, to help create dialog, and community we put together a group of parents talking about Ibram Kendi’s Antiracist Baby and the work of parenting antiracist children. Kendi is speaking tomorrow night through Seattle Arts and Lecture Series and we will be holding  a conversation about Kendi’s work during the Equity Symposium. Please register for the symposium happening April 13-15 and check out the lineup at https://www.evergreen.edu/equity/evergreen-equity-symposium .

Thank you to Jeannette Smith, Jess Thrift, Casey Lalonde, and Sam Hensold for filming with us!  We hope folks enjoy the video, watch it alone, watch it with other staff and faculty, watch it and have a conversation with someone! Below is the link for the video and for feedback after watching!
