Dear Staff and Faculty,

Student Activities is happy to announce that Melissa Bennett has moved into a new position within our office. She is now our Assistant Director of Spirituality and Meaning Making. Melissa has a background in Spiritual Care and Counseling and previously worked as a forensic mental health chaplain. In addition to her work at Evergreen, she also collaborates with Faith Matters Network serving as a community care chaplain for spiritual leaders, activists, and organizers across the country.

Melissa is available to provide 1:1 spiritual care (spiritual care is for everyone – spiritual and non-spiritual, religious and non-religious, you can be from any faith tradition or no faith tradition) and support.

Melissa provides a confidential space for students to talk through questions of purpose, belonging, community, connection, grief, joy, and deepening their relationships to self and others. She is here to accompany students as they navigate their time at Evergreen providing advocacy, serving as a social and healing justice mentor, and providing resources and referrals to other well-being services on campus or in the community. She can assist students in finding practices that help them navigate these uncertain times.

If you know students who could benefit from this meaningful resource or if you find yourself in need of support, you can contact Melissa via email at: bennettm@evergreen.edu

Also, be sure to check our Instagram page: @studentactivities.evergreen and keep an eye on our website: evergreen.edu/activities for more ways to engage in this powerful work.

All the best,

❤ The Student Activities team
