2019 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Celebration

Please plan to join us!
in conjunction with Return to Evergreen

Friday October 18, 2019
3:30-5:30
Library Mezzanine

Dear Evergreen Community:

I am pleased to report another successful conclusion to Evergreen’s Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) program and to invite you to come learn about and celebrate some remarkable student and faculty collaborations.  Over the past few months, 18 undergraduate students have worked intensively with 19 faculty on summer projects. I’ve included a list of all the 2019 projects and their student and faculty teams below.

With support from both the College and the Foundation, the SURF program (www.evergreen.edu/surf) offers undergraduates the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors on research and creative projects. Fellows gain valuable research experience across the disciplinary spectrum and receive a stipend ($3000 per summer). Faculty get help to advance their research and creative agendas.

Please join us Friday, October 18, beginning at 3:30 pm, to celebrate the accomplishments of our 2019 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellows and their faculty.  The event on the Library Mezzanine will include food and beverages, as well as an opportunity to view research posters prepared by the students. Feel free to drop by any time.

If you have any questions about this event or about the upcoming SURF season, please contact me.

Best,

Karen Gaul
