Today’s meeting had a relatively quick pace to previous sessions. Topics covered spanned biogeography, evolutionary biology, vertebrate ethology, population dynamics and conservation of Florida’s unique vegetation communities. Present were Professors Longino and Styring, Eric, Kim and I (Brendon). Some of the Ornithological cases we discussed were the Florida Scrub Jay’s semi-social juvenile brood-raising assistance, the natural history of Shrikes (Laniidae), and the anatomy of the Thrush family (Turdidae syn. Muscicapidae).
We look forward to the next Interest Group Meeting, and we hope that attendees bring big appetites – both for lunch and Natural History.
