New Faculty Academy

Each academic year, Evergreen welcomes a cohort to join the faculty. The Learning and Teaching Commons is delighted to welcome and orient faculty. Throughout their first year, new faculty participate in orientation sessions as their governance assignment. These sessions include:

  1. Intensive summer gatherings designed to support curriculum planning and design
  2. A series of workshops and campus spotlights during the academic year
  3. Online modules
  4. Celebrations and social activities

The new faculty convene during Monday governance hours (3:15-5:00) several times each quarter. Additionally, new faculty discuss matters of teaching well with their colleagues through participation in the seminars and workshops. Resources, links, and other useful information are available in the new faculty canvas group.

Faculty joining Evergreen during the 2024-2025 academic year are invited to join the New Faculty Summer Academy (details below). For more details about the New Faculty Academy, please contact us.
