The Importance of Sound Business Practices in a Worker Cooperative
While many small businesses manage to sustain themselves without clear structure or defined roles, some just can’t keep up. Learn about creating clear and distinct roles for ownership and management, timely and accurate accounting, and documented process and procedures.
About the Speaker
As a student at The Evergreen State College, Micheal worked at The Flaming Eggplant, a student run cooperative dining spot on campus, and fell in love with the potential of cooperatives. Since then he has been deeply involved with many co-ops, including the Olympia Food Co-op, New Moon Cooperative Cafe, the Northwest Construction Cooperative, and the Business Services Cooperative. Today, Micheal lives in Spokane where he grew up, with his partner and daughter, and is a member-owner of the Spokane Workers Cooperative.
