Brick and Mortar Retail When Everything is on Amazon
Learn what it is like to have in person, brick and mortar retail stores in a time when everyone is shopping online. Alana Carr will share about the history of her businesses, ideas about retail and the roll it plays in our communities.
About the Speaker
Alana is co-owner of three local businesses, Captain Little, an independent toy shop in Downtown Olympia, Lapis, a fine jewelry store in Tacoma, and Compass Rose, a gift shop with locations in both Olympia and Tacoma.
Both of her parents are Greeners, graduating Evergreen in the late 70’s; Alana was raised around her family’s small organic blueberry farm, which is still run by her dad, Tommy, on Gull Harbor road.
