Equity Symposium Opening Plenary Session

Please join us for the Opening Plenary Session of the 2025 Equity Symposium.
Stories that Fortify: An interactive story sharing experience to build grounding, hope, and connection. Facilitated by Dr. Leticia Nieto.
When: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16
Where: House of Welcome
Cultures and communities have been using stories to build connection and resilience since our very beginnings. We are born craving stories; they nourish us and strengthen us. Stories are wise allies that hold code for what is possible. When we tell and listen to stories, we experience the powerful interconnection that is always present. Stories are wise at offering the right message for the moment and they are teachers of expansion and healing.
This opening plenary session will explore storytelling through multiple modes: written, visual, and oral. Participants will be invited to connect to their own stories of grounding, hope, and connection and share them in community. Participants are encouraged to choose the mode and level of engagement that honors where they are coming from, moment to moment.
Leticia Nieto, PsyD, LMFT, TEP is a leadership coach, psychotherapist, and educator specializing in liberation and equity, cultural responsiveness, motivational patterning, and evolutionary creativity.
