Faculty Note | Daniel Ralph | 2021-2022

Dan’s work of philosophical fiction, The Scorpion’s Song: Towards a Life of the Mind, was released in August of 2021. Set in the days leading up to the beginning of the Gulf War, the book describes a young Sergeant’s encounters with a Socratic Scorpion. Drawing on the philosophy of Adorno, Arendt, Heidegger and Zizek, the book includes introductory dialogues on themes like thinking, beauty, interpretation, and truth. Dan also published an article on the Finkel Conceptual Workshop in Real Evergreen: An Educator’s Handbook released in March of 2022.
