Faculty Note | Hirsh Diamant | 2025-2026
Hirsh Diamant was the invited guest speaker for an online meeting organized by AIBAS at Amity University Mumbai, India with over 400 Psychology students. His talk: Mindfulness and the Environment – Stepping Back to go Forward, inspired students to learn traditional practices to apply them to modern health and environmental problems.
In April, 2026, Prof. Diamant collaborated with his students to organize an international colloquium in celebration of Earth Day. The creative work of students and faculty with the colloquium proceedings can be seen at: Reimagining the Body, Celebrating Earth, 2026
Titled “Grounding Virtue,” the colloquium provided an opportunity for Evergreen students to meet and collaborate virtually with peers from universities in China, India, and Vietnam.
The colloquium drew over 100 participants who engaged in fruitful sharing sessions and a yoga practice. Sam Vuong, Professor Emeritus from UBC (Canada), praised the event for its “tremendous positive energy” and strong sense of communion among students and faculty.
