Dear Evergreen community, 

Provided below are updates on the presidential search process.

Search Committee Training

On January 22, the Presidential Search Committee participated in a “Minimizing Bias as Practice Learning” training, facilitated by Patricia Narvaez-Wheeler, MSW. Patricia is an anti-racist educator, equity and inclusion consultant, and learning and development professional.

Applications

Priority application deadline is Friday, February 19. To date, Karras Consulting has received 24 applications, which are currently under review by the search committee. Please share the Presidential Search Prospectus with others that may have an interest in applying for the position.

Interviews

Interview dates for the initial round will be held on Wednesday, March 10 and Friday, March 12. The search committee will begin discussing, reviewing, and editing interview questions this afternoon.

Advisory Committee Discussion

The Search Advisory Committee, will reconvene on Thursday, February 18 to discuss search updates, selection criteria, process, and timeline, including community forums for finalists.

Finalist Community Forums

Once finalists are recommended by the search committee to the Board of Trustees, selected candidates will be invited to virtual community forums. Forums will occur in late March or early April (sessions will NOT take place during spring break). Sessions will be held for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and advisory committee. More detail on forums, including invitations, will be shared once available.

Survey Reminder

The presidential search community survey will remain open throughout the search. The Karras team is regularly reviewing submissions and contacting those who request it. You are encouraged to continue circulating the survey link and to take advantage of the opportunity to provide input. Feedback from our community is incredibly crucial to the process. We will continue to provide updates, as available, via campus announcements and the presidential search web page.
