RE: Candidates for appointment as regular faculty members on Continuing Appointment: Lalita Calabria, John Caraher, Kris Coffey, Cali Ellis, Dion Gouws, Shawn Hazboun, Vuslat Katsanis, Prita Lal, Maria Isabel Morales, Melissa Nivala, and Brad Proctor.

In accordance with Article 11.3 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (“Conversion of a Regular Faculty Member on Term Contract to a Regular Faculty Member on Continuing Appointment”), Lalita Calabria, John Caraher, Kris Coffey, Cali Ellis, Dion Gouws, Shawn Hazboun, Vuslat Katsanis, Prita Lal, Maria Isabel Morales, Melissa Nivala, and Brad Proctor have applied for appointment as a member of the faculty on Continuing Appointment.

Over their years teaching at Evergreen, including those years on adjunct contract, each of these faculty members has taught with at least six teaching partners, including with at least three regular faculty members on Continuing Appointment, and has met all of the other requirements to be eligible to apply for conversion of their contracts to Continuing Appointment.

Beginning January 1, 2021 and continuing through April 15, 2021, these faculty members will be reviewed for this purpose. We invite your comments on their applications. You may email a letter and/or other items to facultyhiringandcontracts@evergreen.edu, Attn: Emmie Forman, Program Coordinator for Faculty Reviews, by December 15, 2020. We will make all materials available to these candidates. Because we are working remotely during the pandemic, we cannot accept any hard copy comments, as no one is in the office to receive them; all comments must be submitted via email.

The review panels will consist of each candidate’s teaching partners who are regular faculty members on Continuing Appointment, one or two additional regular faculty members on Continuing Appointment chosen from a faculty pool as specified in the CBA, the dean as a non-voting member, and one additional regular faculty member on Continuing Appointment who, in the candidate’s opinion, is a good judge of some part of the candidate’s work at Evergreen.
