Dear faculty and staff, 

Each Friday of spring quarter, the Evergreen Remote communications team will send a summary of updates about teaching and working remotely, including changes made to Evergreen’s COVID-19 webpage, messages that have been sent out, and information that is forthcoming. Our goal is to help you stay up-to-date with important information related to remote learning, teaching, and services and to reduce the volume of communications you are receiving. Please be sure to check your email filter and junk settings so you don’t miss a message. Here are this week’s updates: 

COVID Webpage Update: 

 • Evergreen’s COVID-19 student resources and employee resources pages – updated regularly. Recent updates include: 

 • Student Tech Survey Results provided by Evergreen’s Altered Services work group are available         

 • Information about how to safely return and check out items from the library during Spring and Summer Quarters  

New Webpages:  

 • To share your program or course end-of-the-year events with the campus community, please fill out this questionnaire so they can be included in a compiled list (Evergreen login required) 

Campus Communications: 

 • Important Graduation Updates – message sent by Graduation office/Jazmyne Kozak to all staff and faculty on Friday, May 15, 2020

 • Unemployment Fraud Warning – Update from HRS – message sent by Jennifer Levesque to all staff and faculty, Saturday, May 16, 2020 

 • Is Evergreen providing the support you need during COVID-19? – please complete this survey

 • Staff received the above e-mail from Laurel Uznanski on Monday, May 18, 2020 

 • Faculty and Students received individual emails with unique survey links from the Office of institutional research and assessment 

 • Recap: Staff Town Hall May 8 – message sent from Campus News to staff on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 

Gʷídəq Student Union (GSU) Communications: 

 • GSU hosts a COVID-19 Support Group 

 • Next meeting Friday, May 29 at 4:00 PM 

 • Zoom and call-in info listed on the GSU webpage 

 • GSU is offering food delivery on pop-up food bank days 

 • The GSU Referendum is live, students can vote via My.Evergreen 
 

Public Communications*:  

 • #AskAGreener Evergreen Student Panel, #2: Academics FAQ –  video featuring Evergreen’s student ambassadors produced by admissions  

 • 40 years after its famed eruption, Mt. St. Helens looms as a marvel and a threat – faculty member Carri LeRoy is featured in this LA Times article published Sunday, May 17, 2020 

 • Evergreen Students Contribute to Groundbreaking Mount St. Helens Stream Research – featuring Carri LeRoy and students, article published on ThurstonTalk on Friday, May 22, 2020

Have a story to highlight? Complete a project request form to help bring awareness to important work happening currently. Submissions will be reviewed and prioritized with available resources and feasibility in mind.
