Our first black and white film processing proficiency session for Winter quarter will be this Friday, January 20th and the first darkroom printing proficiency session will take place on the following Friday, January 27th. While there are not any spots remaining in our first sessions, we will have two sets of sessions per week starting up again in week 4. The dates for the proficiencies in week 4 are still be solidified, but if you would like to get yourself on the waitlist for those proficiency slots, please stop into Photoland and speak with a lab aide or email email@example.com.
Hello! You may notice that our Digital Print Requests procedures have changed – please read the new instructions carefully and let us know if you have any questions. If you had placed a print request through our old form system, your request will still be printed and you will be contacted when it’s ready for pick up. If you have questions, give us a call or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome back for Winter quarter! We are back open as on Monday, January 9th 2023 – you can find our open hours below or on our current service hours page. Our hours have shifted slightly from last quarter due to staffing shortages and may change again as the quarter progresses. As always, the lab is subject to sudden closure due to staffing shortages and COVID safety measures. If we do need to close suddenly, we will update the front page of our website.

Interested in learning how to process your 35mm black and white film and work in a darkroom? We are offering proficiencies again for all who are interested! Community members will have to purchase a daily or quarterly pass in order to participate in the proficiencies (see the “Community Member” tab for more details on that).
We will be having two sets of processing proficiencies during week 5 and two sets of darkroom proficiencies the following week. YOU MUST ATTEND A PROCESSING PROFICIENCY PRIOR TO ATTENDING A DARKROOM PROFICIENCY. There are only 6 spots in each session and sign up is first come, first serve. We will be holding more proficiency sessions in the future so if you miss this one or can’t attend during the dates below, there will be more chances!
You SHOULD NOT attend more than one processing proficiency or more than one darkroom proficiency. If you are still not feeling comfortable processing film or working in the darkroom after your session, please let the instructor know so that they can help you.
