This spring the new faculty cohort will be participating in a four-part book club using, Learning that Matters: Course Design for Transformative Education. This new book, co-authored by JuliA Metzker, offers pragmatic and research-informed approaches for creating learning experiences that engage college students as active citizens. The authors intertwine critical concepts such as connected assessments, portable thinking skills, and engaging strategies with a purposeful focus on inclusivity and equity. You are invited to join the 2020-2021 new faculty cohort in this four part book club where we will draw from four chapters of the book to explore using a design approach to plan courses and programs.
