Featuring Native poets Laura Da’, Rena Priest, Cedar Sigo and Arianne True.

Rena Priest is the current Washington State Poet Laureate and a citizen of the Lhaq’temish (Lummi) Nation. Laura Da’, a citizen of Eastern Shanwee, is an author, poet and teacher. Cedar Sigo is a citizen of the Suquamish Nation and is an author of art, literature and film. Arianne True, from the Choctaw and Chickasaw Nations, is a queer poet and folk artist from Seattle. She teaches and mentors youth poets around the Salish Sea.

Each poet will share work and engage with the audience for a question and answer period. Of course, this is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by Library of Congrees Center for the Book Washington, Humanities Washington, Washington State Arts Commission and the House of Welcome.
