Faculty Notes | Sean Williams | 2025-2026

Sean Williams celebrated her final year of full-time teaching at Evergreen with the May release of her liminality book; titled Music at the Threshold from the Sacred to the Dangerous (Oxford University Press), it is the tenth book that she has either written or edited. The book first appeared in her mind during the program “Intimate Nature: A Language Older than Words” that she taught with Laurie Meeker and Sarah Williams in 2002-2003. Sean gave multiple presentations at the start of spring quarter (at Amherst College, Smith College, the University of Cincinnati, a Tacoma retirement center, and University College at Cork in Ireland) prior to leading her tenth study abroad program to Ireland. While she will still teach at Evergreen for the next three winter quarters as part of a post-retirement contract, she looks forward to focusing on playing music, traveling, and of course her future book projects.
