Dear Colleagues, 

I am writing to give an update about our progress on the New Academic Directions project. Attached is the first installment of a series of reports we plan to send out as the project moves along.   You will see from this report that the project is complex. Many teams have been actively engaged building out components of the project this summer. Please join me in expressing appreciation for the time and creative thinking that many of our colleagues have contributed to this project. 
 
New Academic Directions will be a critical component of our collective work this year. There will continue to be opportunities for feedback and to engage in creative planning and implementation for the elements that move forward with this project in phases.
