Spring 2022, Week 5

Resources and Reminders

Hello, All:

We hope your spring quarter is going well. Please read the notice below and keep on hand for a ready reference.

Summer Institutes: Thanks to all of you who submitted amazing proposals for 2022 Summer Institutes!   This summer’s program offers opportunities to build community, improve our practice, and engage in meaningful conversations about student success. The Commons will again be sponsoring a conference-style institute, Designing Learning Experiences that Matter, that merges intentional and universal design approaches to program and course planning with a variety optional workshops. The institute will be offered twice this summer, June 13-17 and Aug 15-19.  Registration for summer institutes will be open from May 1-June 8.

Week 5 check in and support: Please refresh yourself on some of our mid-quarter pointers from April 2020—still relevant and hopefully helpful!

Student Wellness Services is operating, and available to provide support to students via phone and HIPAA compliant video conferencing.  We recommend that you submit a report to the Care Team if there is elevated concern for a student’s well-being or safety, especially if there is danger of credit loss.  Care Team members will try to connect with the student and offer resources/support.

Final opportunity to fulfill annual Title IX requirement: Wednesday, May 4 from 1-3pm. Zoom & Canvas details will be sent to the all faculty list by 4/27.

Path Parties: Wednesday, May 11 from 1:30-3:30pm. Please connect with your path convener to find out how you can help your path connect with students.

Academic Fair: Wednesday, May 11 from 4-6pm. The Academic Fair will be held remotely on May 11 from 4-6pm. Please fill out this form by May 4 to be included on the program:

Registration week for summer and fall quarters will begin on May 16, 2022.

Academic Statements: Annual Academic Statements are due on May 13; for seniors graduating in spring, the final transcript-ready version is due June 10. As you know, a well-written Academic Statement is a tribute to the student’s learning; a hastily written one can overshadow all the wonderful things you write about them in your evaluations. With that in mind, we encourage you to dedicate some extra attention to the Academic Statement in your 5th week conferences, particularly for your graduating seniors. For more information, please see:

Commencement: Evergreen will be hosting an in-person commencement ceremony on Friday, June 10 to honor the class of 2022.
