The Sun

With the return of students from the fog, there have begun to be some that have been caught looking up towards the sky. This is no new behavior but the number of people have since grown. Amongst those afflicted by the fog, they have been seen to talk amongst themselves. Though, those who have witnessed this behavior, would argue calling it “talking.”

In reality, it has been these students, while staring at the sun, repeating phases to each other. Amongst these phrases have been broken phrases and sentences, “look–”, “look behind–”, “the sky–”, and when most clear, it has been recorded that some have said, “look behind the sky” while their eyes are locked onto the sun.

When speaking amongst each other, they have been observed seeming to understand one another. They will all agree and repeat the phrases to each other with more enthusiasm. It has been described as something like an “echo chamber” amongst those observed doing these behaviors.

When other students have tried to intervene, these students are almost entranced by the sun and refuse to look away. They have not been receptive to being stopped and when they try to repeat words and phrases to these students, some have been observed becoming frustrated when the students don’t seem to understand what they mean.

Efforts are still being made to try and understand and help these students. It has additionally become alarming because on occasion even those who have never entered the fog have been recorded expressing a weird desire to want to look at the sun.

These observations have grown in number and it has been recorded from numerous sources that when they have looked at the sun that it feels off. It took the students a bit to realize but upon tracking and recording the sun and sky, they realized that the shape of the sun has changed. They don’t know if this was abrupt but the change has become something noticeable and undeniable now– the shape of the sun has changed ever so slightly. The once perfectly circular sun has begun looking ever so slightly oval-shaped horizontally.
