Transformers! Organisms in disguise!
These organisms though seemingly unrelated have a common link. They all transform! From larvae to adulthood, these organisms take on strange and wildly varying morphologies, feeding behaviors and general life strategies. In this group, there are four major Transformers: Hemigrapsus oregonensis, Nauplii, Scyphozoa ephyra and Semibalanus balanoides. Each goes through their own unique transformation, changing shapes and, at times, looking as if they belong to entirely separate species. This category brings together these real-life Transformers to show off the unique ways that each organism deals with the changing needs of growth and development.
