Exam and Review Schedule:
- Week 9 Thu. Nov. 29, 1:30 – 3:30pm: DE Review (All-Program meeting starts at 12:30pm)
- Week 10 Mon. Dec. 3, 9am: DE Exam
- Week 10 Mon. Dec. 3, 1pm: MVVC Review
- Week 10 Tue. Dec. 4, 9am: MVVC Exam
- Week 10 Tue. Dec. 4, 1:30pm: LA Review
- Week 10 Wed. Dec. 5, 9am: LA Exam
- Each exam will start at 9am. Each exam will be designed to be completed in 2 hours. Each exam will be collected by 12:45pm.
For each exam, you will be allowed to use:
- a personally-prepared 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of handwritten notes,
- your writing tools,
- your calculating device.
- Scratch paper will be provided.
Our recommendations to prepare for the exam include:
- reviewing/reworking assigned problems (and variations of them)
- reviewing/reworking problems/concepts covered during lectures (and variations of them)
- reviewing/reworking quiz questions (and variations of them)
- For more problems to practice, use text problems that were not assigned, as well as problems from the Miscellaneous Problems section at the end of each chapter from Boas. Boas also has a chapter on Linear Algebra, so you can use that to supplement Strang. Strang’s website also has a quite extensive set of Practice Exam Questions and solutions from exams administered at MIT.
