GSU Assembly

Faculty were asked by the Geoduck Student Union to share this information about the Geoduck Student Union Assembly:

***

In late Spring 2018, representatives from the Geoduck Student Union presented a proposal to the faculty to increase student engagement with college governance via the Geoduck Student Assembly. If you are receiving this email, you have been identified as a program coordinator, and we are asking for your support moving forward with our initiative

In order to recruit students directly from academic programs, we ask that you distribute the attached materials however works best for you and your students. We would also appreciate if you made time during week 2 of the quarter to allow your students to select a delegate to represent your program at the Assembly. We ask that your students select delegates at a ratio of one delegate per seminar group. Delegates will serve for the duration of the quarter they are selected in.

Once students in your program have selected delegates, please reply to this email with the names and email addresses of each of those students so we may begin to communicate important information to them about the Assembly, college news, and opportunities for students in your programs (ex., internships, fellowships, job offers).

In addition, please inform students that candidacy forms for the Geoduck Student Union are now being accepted for this academic year. Students can find more information at www.evergreen.edu/gsu

We thank you for the support you offer students in your work, and greatly look forward to strengthening the relationship between faculty and students. Please let us know if there is any support or further information we can provide.

Sincerely, The Geoduck Student Union
