The APS CUWiP 2019 (American Physical Society Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics) will be held Fri. Jan. 18 – Sun. Jan. 20. For Evergreen students, the preferred site is the University of Washington – Seattle (Seattle, WA).

The application form is straightforward. You should be able to complete most of it with little difficulty.
- Under Coverage of Conference Travel, click Yes to “Have you asked your department Chair to cover…” and “Will your department be able to cover…”
- The Applicant Statement will require some time but it’s between 100 and 200 words. Make sure to keep a copy of your Applicant Statement in your records somewhere.
If you are accepted, there is a $45 registration cost (so you don’t pay until after you are accepted). This will be the only cost to participants (it helps defray lodging, meals, and other conference costs, and Evergreen will pay for your transportation). A registration fee waiver can be applied for if necessary. Please don’t let this registration cost prevent you from applying; if you are accepted and apply for but don’t receive a registration waiver, and the cost would prevent you from attending, we will work with you.
We know of several Evergreen students who are planning to apply. If you go, you will be in good supportive company, and have the support of your faculty.
