Visit the Rare Books Room

Explore the art of the book with rare and unusual items. Named for the founding Dean of the Library, James F. Holly, this collection is focused around several formats — handmade and small press books, miniature books, and trade books that are both rare and beautiful to look at, touch, and read.

Forest Fern – Jill Timm This bright green fern lived deep in the Northwestern forest. The image is a hand pulled serigraph printed on archival printmaking paper by Jill Timm. This unusual strcuture, a “flag” book was invented by Hedi Kyle. The cover paper is Mulberry, and the inside paper is Canford. The font used is TektoMM. This is number 9 of an edition of 25.
