“I tend to focus on and reinforce the strengths of each individual student while promoting that there is no wrong way to make art. I try keeping students motivated and excited while setting the bar for excellence just beyond reach. We can always improve.”
Bruce Thompson is the Ceramics Instructional Technician and has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Evergreen, since June 2011. His piece In Response to a Mouth Guard, is currently on display in Evergreen Gallery’s faculty/staff exhibition, Statements & Questions. His work is about how one object/concept influences and shapes another. “In this case: As the mouth defines the shape of the mouth guard the mouth guard, in turn, defines the shape of the sculpture.”
Bruce believes the campus resources are top notch and excellent. “Frankly much better than many colleges with M.F.A. programs.” Bruce encourages everyone to explore the freedom that Evergreen offers.
Statements & Questions: Select Works of Faculty and Staff Of The Evergreen State College now showing until March 8th, 2017 in The Evergreen Gallery.
