Oil Crayon Drawings by Claudia Muzychko

Oil Crayon Drawings by Claudia Muzychko is now hanging in the library. Claudia graduated with a BA in Environmental Science Resource Management and Global Environment from University of Washington and is now part of the MES program at Evergreen with her anticipated graduation being June 2019. Claudia creates these drawings by hand using an organic oil and oil crayon base, avoiding solvents, sprays, and other chemicals in her work. Writing and Resistance: The Erasure Poems

Now Showing in the Library These erasure poems and collaged texts were created by students in a Spring 2017 program entitled “Writing and Resistance,” led by Amanda Davidson and Justin Hocking. Students sourced the original text from Donald J. Trump’s national bestseller The Art of the Deal. The anti-fascist symbol of three left downwards-facing red arrows originated in Nazi Germany. The resistance movement chose the arrows because they covered swastikas easily and quickly. After WWII the arrows were adopted internationally by most of those claiming to be organized against fascism.Read More →

Carla Stehr’s Quilts & Molecules

Now Showing in the Evergreen Library The Lib+ is honored to present Carla Stehr’s Quilts and Molecule Photographs. Carla Stehr is a fiber artist influenced by a scientific career as a Marine Biologist. As a scientist, she studied cells and tissues of marine organisms and photographed the complexity and beauty of aquatic life with a scanning electron microscope.
