Advanced media students, faculty (Sally Cloninger and Phil Harding) and staff (Peter Randlette and Dick Fuller) formed an experimental media collective in spring ’87 to produce a weekly public access show. Known affectionately as C.A.T., this series was designed around weekly themes (such as “After Midnight” or “Not Sold In Stores”), some of which were suggested by viewers. Aired every Friday on Channel 31 of TCTV, C.A.T. took a playful yet critical approach to making television. The full series is available in the Evergreen Library Archives. The second episode, Rhythm explored the pulse of daily life, from a bone-jangling trip to L.A. to snippets of American culture.
