Tribal Department: Natural and Cultural Resources-Shellfish

Job Summary: This position serves as Shellfish Program technical lead for spatial mapping projects with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Will assist in biological data collection through sampling and fishery investigations. Will conduct and assist in the design of fishery monitoring projects and is responsible for compilation and maintenance of the Shellfish Program’s GIS database. Will assist with field studies, will assist with the planning and completion of research as directed and will produce reports and analysis when needed.

Compensation:  $29.47 hr.

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor Degree in Fisheries or related field

Minimum Related Experience

  • Six (6) months of work with ArcGIS Geospatial processing tools and processing automation script using Python.
  • Six (6) months of Commercial Shellfish Harvest Management experience.
  • Six (6) months of work with ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabase creation and management.
  • Three (3) months of work creating and using geospatial data from photographs.
  • Three (3) months of field work creating complex GIS Feature classes.

Required Licenses/Certifications/Prerequisites

  • WA State Driver’s License and Valid insurance (Abstract Required).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Must pass an Agility exam to determine if physically capable of performing the job.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Terms of Employment:  This is a regular Full-Time position
