SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:  Manage all aspects of research conducted by the Marine Fisheries Field Research Group under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Stokesbury. Provide leadership and supervision for the research group and their related facilities. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the research, grant proposal and report writing, research budgets, students and staffs, industry collaborators, and fishery managers for the SMAST Marine Fisheries Field Research Group. Other responsibilities include serving as Chief Scientist for at-sea data collection, report writing, present information at scientific meetings and active collaboration with industry partners. Follow the University’s best practices to build and/or support student academic success and retention, and assist in meeting strategic objectives for persistence and timely graduation of all the student population.

Decision Making: May follow standard protocols or determine protocols to be used, based on the guidelines of the principle investigator. Has the authority to make decisions related to lab management and record-keeping.
