Why do African Americans seek and find help for mental health problems far less often than their White counterparts? What causes this disparity and what, if anything, can be done to overcome it for the sake of improved mental health in African American communities? Could mass media play a part in the solution … or is it a big part of the problem?

    Good job on this presentation. I think as Human Service Professionals, it is our responsibility to educate, inform, recommend, and refer African American Men and Women to seek mental health services. We have to show them the benefits of such and how to enter and navigate in the MH system.
