Speaker Bios:
· Jacob Johns: An Akimel O’odham and Hopi community organizer from Spokane, Jacob is deeply involved in grassroots movements and has participated in various United Nations climate summits to foster unity and resilience.
· Kayla Jenkins: An environmental activist with strong ties to the A’i Cofán community in Ecuador, Kayla works tirelessly to protect Indigenous lands from oil exploitation, continuing the legacy of Eduardo Mendúa.
· Jhajayra Machoa Mendúa: A leader in the A’i Cofán community in Ecuador, Jhajayra provides critical insights into current resistance efforts and the importance of safeguarding Indigenous territories from oil exploitation.
