Reminders for Tue. Oct. 28

For Tue. Oct. 28, meet for Physics Lab as usual, and still meet for Problem Session from noon – 1:30 in Sem 2 E3105 as usual. No special preparation is required for Problem Session, but bring your notes and your exam note-card.

For Pre-Seminar:

  • Group B meets 9:00 – 10: 30 in Library 2617 (in the Academic Computing Center)
  • Group A meets 2:00 – 3:30 in CAL East

Exam 1 and Week 5 schedule

Because of the midterm exam, the week 5 schedule is slightly different. Please look this over and bring your questions for discussion during Problem Session on Thu. Oct. 23; we’ll add any clarifying information after that discussion as needed.

  • Sat. Oct. 25: no Seminar Papers due
  • Sun. Oct. 26: no Reading Response due (moved to Tue. Oct. 28)
  • Mon. Oct. 27:
    • 9:00 – 10:00 Quiz 4 on Week 4 material
    • 10:00 – 11:00 Open Review
    • 11:00 – 12:00 Break
    • 12:00 – 3:00 Exam 1 (details below) in Lecture Hall 2
  • Tue. Oct. 28:
    • Regular Schedule, but with special required activities scheduled during Pre-Seminar and Problem Session (details to be announced)
    • Writing Group 1 submits Ch. 3.1-3.3 Seminar Paper revisions to faculty by 9 am
    • Reading Response due by 6 pm via MasteringPhysics
  • Wed. Oct. 29: Regular Schedule

Exam 1 info

  • Exam 1 will be on Mon. Oct. 27 from noon – 3:00 pm in Lecture Hall 2
  • Coverage includes all material in calculus and physics from weeks 1 – 4, including material from reading, lectures, labs, and homework assignments.
  • You may use your calculator (though not its graphing capabilities) and your writing tools of choice. Scratch paper will be provided.
  • You may use a personally-prepared, hand-written, 3 inch x 5 inch notecard.
