- Physics Problem Set #1 Solutions
- Compare these solutions to what is in your Physics PSN.
- Make notes, corrections, or complete problems using a different color ink directly in your PSN.
- This (along with looking over lecture and lab notes) will serve as excellent preparation for the Physics Quiz.
- These solutions also serve as a model of what your notebook might look like.
WebAssign Math PS#1 glitch
Hi everyone. Through only my fault, your WebAssign account will indicate that you didn’t complete Math PS#1, even thought nearly all of you did, and won’t display your score. Please don’t worry about this. -Krishna

Math Problem Set #2 (Week 2)
The following problems should be attempted/completed in your Math Problem Set Notebook (Math PSN). All 30 of the problems are assigned as part of this Problem Set. However, 10 of these problems will be chosen for you to submit via WebAssign by 6pm on Fri. Oct. 6; those problems indicated by bold underline.
- 1.7: 5, 7, 10, 22, 23, 41, 42
- 2.1: 3, 6 (also: can you determine the acceleration on Mars?), 7
- 2.2: 1, 2, 5, 15, 18, 28, 30
- 2.3: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 18, 21, 25, 28, 31, 34, 49
- **Read over all problems before Thursday Math/Physics Workshop. Complete as many as you can before Workshop.**
- There is NO EXPECTATION that you can complete all these problems on your own before Workshop – that’s the point of collaborative learning in Workshop.
- Some of the problems you will be able to complete on your own. Your time in Workshop (and study groups) will be most productive if you are able to identify the problems that are giving (or would give) you difficulty before Workshop.
- Include solutions to ALL PROBLEMS in your Math PSN. Begin each solution in your PSN with a statement of the problem.
- Submit bold underlined problems via WebAssign by 6pm Fri. Oct. 6.
- Solutions to all assigned problems will be posted after the on-line submission due date.
- Compare the posted solutions to what is in your Math PSN.
- Make notes, corrections, or complete problems using a different color ink directly in your PSN.
- This (along with looking over lecture notes) will serve as excellent preparation for the Math Quiz.

Math Quiz note card
- As discussed in class on Thursday, you may bring one single personally prepared 3 inch by 5 inch note card with you to Monday’s Math Quiz.
- You may write on both sides of the card. It’s important that you personally prepare the note card.
- Please take advantage of preparing the note card as a learning opportunity.
- You may put anything on your note card that you choose, as long as you have personally prepared it.
- We do not plan to collect your note card.
