The Estuarium will be hosting a very exciting and timely talk with Ellie Kinley, President of the indigenous-led conservation organization Sacred Sea, via Facebook Live on January 6th at 6:30 PM. Sacred Sea has a mission to promote ancestral knowledge and practices for the protection and revitalization of the waters, culture, life, and sacred sites of the Salish Sea.

This is a great talk to follow our Discovery Speaker Series last month about salmon behaviors and habitats or pair with a trip to the Estuarium where you can view our ongoing traveling Orca Exhibit that explores the world of the Southern Resident Orcas and their history in this area. Lummi tribal members were interviewed in the writing of the book that the exhibit was based on and the book is for sale at the Estuarium’s gift shop.

Attached to this email you will find the press release for this virtual talk as well as the flier used for distribution. Please let your audiences know about this exciting event by posting to any listservs or community calendars that you may have access to.
