At The GS-05:
Qualifying experience for GS-05 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-4 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience assisting with rangeland or plant ecology research studies.
OR
Education: Completion of a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree (a) with major study in forestry, range management, agriculture, or a subject-matter field directly related to the position. Directly related subject-matter fields may include Biology, Ecology, Rangeland Ecology, Rangeland Resources, Rangeland Management, Rangeland Science, Botany, Plant Biology, Plant Physiology, Conservation Science, Ecosystem Science, Earth Science, Soil Science, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Crop Science, Natural Resources (except fisheries and oceanography), and Agronomy; OR (b) that included at least 24 semester hours or the equivalent in any combination of courses such as forestry, agriculture, crop or plant science, range management or conservation, wildlife management, watershed management, soil science, natural resources (except marine fisheries and oceanography), outdoor recreation management, civil or forest engineering, or wildland fire science. No more than 6 semester hours in mathematics is creditable.

At The GS-07:
Qualifying experience for GS-07 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-5 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience assisting with rangeland or plant ecology research studies; and coordinating rangeland or plant ecology research in a field or greenhouse setting.

Education: One full year of graduate level education, if related. Related degree may include, Biology, Ecology, Rangeland Ecology, Rangeland Resources, Rangeland Management, Rangeland Science, Botany, Plant Biology, Plant Physiology, Conservation Science, Ecosystem Science, Earth Science, Soil Science, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Crop Science, Natural Resources (except fisheries and oceanography), and Agronomy.

A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above.
At The GS-09:
Qualifying experience for GS-09 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-8 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience assisting with rangeland or plant ecology research studies; coordinating rangeland or plant ecology research in a field or greenhouse setting; and experience with advanced measurement techniques or equipment for rangeland or plant ecology characteristics.

Education: Two full years of graduate level education or a Master’s degree, if related. Related degree may include, Biology, Ecology, Rangeland Ecology, Rangeland Resources, Rangeland Management, Rangeland Science, Botany, Plant Biology, Plant Physiology, Conservation Science, Ecosystem Science, Earth Science, Soil Science, Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Wildlife Management, Wildlife Science, Forestry, Crop Science, Natural Resources (except fisheries and oceanography), and Agronomy.
