Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group (MCFEG) is looking for an energetic individual to fill the position of Education, Outreach, and Monitoring Assistant, through the Washington Conservation Corps (WCC) Individual Placement program. This position is ideal for an outgoing, organized, detail-oriented, and independently motivated person with experience working with the public and a passion for the outdoors and environmental education. The Education, Outreach, and Monitoring Assistant will have a variety of responsibilities during the 11-month service term with Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group. Project responsibilities will include coordinating volunteer work parties and outreach events, assisting with in-class and field-based educational experiences, serving alongside the seasonal technicians, assisting with the creation of lessons and educational materials, monitoring the success of previous restoration projects, and clerical and logistical support.

Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring wild salmonid populations and their habitats through restoration, protection, education, and community involvement throughout our region. Mid-Columbia Fisheries is part of a statewide network of Regional Fisheries Enhancement Groups working to restore and protect fish populations and habitat. Mid-Columbia Fisheries is a non-profit (501c3) organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. We sponsor and implement priority restoration, fish passage, and habitat protection projects throughout our region. We provide educational and community outreach programs that promote the long-term commitment our society needs to protect fisheries resources.

Mid-Columbia Fisheries works throughout south-central Washington with communities along tributaries to the Columbia River, including the Yakima River, the Klickitat River, the White Salmon River, and the Wind River. This is an 11-month AmeriCorps position starting Oct. 2nd, 2023.
