The Hertz Fellowship funds up to five years of doctoral study in the applied sciences, engineering and mathematics, including a stipend and full tuition equivalent. It’s open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are college seniors, first-year graduate students or in a gap year before starting a PhD.

Beyond funding, fellows join the Hertz Community, a lifelong network of more than 1,300 innovators who mentor and collaborate with each other long after the fellowship ends.
