- The Pacific North West section meeting of the Mathematical Association of America meets on Fri. Apr. 20 and Sat. Apr. 21 at Seattle University.
- We leave from Parking Lot C (“C lot”) on campus on Fri. Apr. 20 at 3pm, and should arrive back on campus by 11:30pm.
- We leave on Saturday at 7:30am, from two locations: on campus and another location in town (TBA). We should return to campus by 9:30pm.
- Reminder: this is an optional trip. You should register on your own. Please confirm directly with Krishna, either in person or via email, if you are planning to attend, and which day(s).
- (updated) On Friday evening, there should be food at the Puzzle Hunt and something to eat at the reception following the opening lecture (should we want to stay for the reception). On Saturday, lunch is provided, and there are coffee breaks and receptions at various times (unsure of the food at those). You may want to bring your own food.

Mistake in Class 20 discussion on He-3
We discussed Problem 5.34(c) in class on Thu. Apr. 5. I got confused and said some incorrect things. The scenario is just like what we discussed for the stretched rubber band, which also went from low entropy to high entropy, adiabatically. As you recall from that experience, the temperature of the rubber band decreased.

Regional Science Conference Opportunities. All are optional. Register on your own, transportation provided. All conferences are local, so for any that last more than one day, we’ll return back to campus each day. Please let me know ASAP if you are planning to go and if you would like transportation from campus.
