A wonderful intercontinental virtual conversation and exchange took place on Thursday, May 21st at 11 pm PST in the Lyceum Zoom room between Evergreen-Tacoma and Maseno University in Kisimu, Kenya, East Africa, where it was 9am on Friday May 22!
Students, staff and faculty were able to share our work on the Spring Fair with our new Kenyan friends, who in turn responded with the exciting work their faculty and students are doing.
Huge thanks to the Spring Fair committee for all their hard work on the fair. Students worked hard on their projects, and were able to showcase them online due to the excellent coordination by the team.
Special shout out to our much beloved former Director and Faculty Emerita, Dr. Joye Hardiman for joining us for this crucial conversation. We also thank Evergreen S&A Director, Jeanette Smith and Media Coordinator Leah Wilkins for being a part of the conversation with us, as well as our students who stayed up late to share their work. Thank you of course to Dean Arunga for encouraging this and sharing her contacts. A big thanks to Marla German for making all the arrangements and organizing the event. And to Trey Appelgate for technical assistance.
This will be the first of many opportunities to connect with Maseno, and you will be able to join us in future conversations. We will announce times, dates, and topics once they are arranged.
