Stop Israeli Apartheid

Stop Israeli Apartheid!

by Peter Bohmer,   December 9, 2023

I want to thank the organizers of this important event. We are living in a time of many crises. Let’s draw strength from gathering together in community and solidarity.

I will talk about anti-apartheid activism for Palestine.

Apartheid was the name given to the institutionalized segregation in South Africa–from the land where one could live, to voting and employment. Every aspect of life was dictated by apartheid.  It was legal and institutionalized from 1948 until 1994 when Nelson Mandela became President.

Zionism means a Jewish State where the laws, educational system and major institutions favor Jewish people, and Palestinians are second class or non-citizens. It means Palestinian families expelled in 1948 and their offspring cannot return to Israel, inside the Green Line, even though they lived there for generations.

This is apartheid. So is the illegal and immoral occupation of the West Bank including East Jerusalem where Palestinians have been displaced, imprisoned, and killed by the Israeli military and settlers.  Gaza is an open-air prison that has become a concentration camp.

Don’t let Israel define antisemitism and anti-Zionism. Many Jews are anti-Zionist, e.g., JVP, and some Zionists, e.g., many Christian evangelicals, are Zionist and anti-Jewish.

I’m anti-Zionist which is fundamentally different from anti-Jewish. The Netanyahu-led Israeli government, most Republican and Democratic politicians, and some Jewish groups in the U.S. undermine criticisms of Israel and support for Palestinian self-determination by calling criticism of Israel, antisemitic.

Let’s not let them get away with it!

I recently completed a civil rights tour of key sites in Mississippi and Alabama of the powerful 1950’s and 1960’s Black Freedom Movement. The connection between Israeli apartheid and Jim Crow in the South was undeniable. The bravery and resilience of Black people and civil rights activists is analogous to the courage of Palestinians resisting occupation. My “End Israeli Apartheid” button resonated with most Black people we met.

In the 1970’s, a powerful social movement against South African apartheid developed globally. Activists supported the many levels of struggle inside South Africa.

We boycotted South African goods, pressured universities and cities to divest from stock and bonds of complicit companies and pushed for sanctions against corporations profiting from Apartheid. This is BDS.  It isolated South Africa and contributed to the eventual end of apartheid although racial oppression continues.

Nelson Mandela, the leader of the anti-apartheid movement made the connection to Palestine: “We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of Palestinians.”

There is a history of global movements against Israeli occupation and apartheid that continues today. It includes those of us here and courageous local activist, Rachel Corrie, who led by example. In 2003, Rachel went to Rafah as part of the ISM. She was murdered by the IDF for protecting the home of the family she was staying with.

Her death is mourned all over the world, her life, celebrated. She inspired our local food co-op, who donated to tonight’s auction, to be the first co-op in the US to join the BDS movement. Let’s honor Rachel’s legacy of Palestinian solidarity which has taken great leaps forward since October 7th by our actions.

Across the world, including in the US, millions are mobilizing against Israelis genocidal policies and the US Military’s support. On November 4, 3000 people participated in a demonstration in Olympia. Two days later, hundreds of protesters delayed for hours a ship headed to Israel with munitions.

This movement is multigenerational, multiracial, and practices a diversity of tactics. More want to get involved. Every Monday night, 80 of us have been organizing Palestine solidarity actions including tonight’s benefit. Talk to me later if you’re interested in planning actions targeting corporations supporting Israel’s war or future fundraisers.

Today’s movement gives me hope for the future, but Palestine cannot wait. Two apartheid movements have been defeated. Let’s join the fight to make it three.

Since 1967, I have been in solidarity with Palestine and actively opposed U.S. military aid and ideological support for Israel. My history of lifelong activism stems in part from being Jewish.

My parents grew up in Vienna, Austria. My dad was 22 when he was incarcerated and frequently beaten by Nazis for being Jewish. My parents escaped Europe and eventually were admitted to the U.S. in 1939. My grandfather and many relatives were killed in concentration camps.

I grew up believing Jewish people wouldn’t oppress others because of our history of oppression. I was naïve. Sadly, most Jewish people in Israel and around the world support a Jewish dominated state. I don’t want this done in my name.

We live in the U.S. Our government’s backing made this mass-murder possible. The more we fight for the end of Israeli occupation and against U.S. support, the more we have the right to criticize Hamas’ killings and taking of 240 hostages. However, history didn’t begin October 7th but with British colonialism and the 1948 Nakba.

Yesterday, the US shamefully vetoed a UN resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire. To call Israel’s ethnic cleansing ‘self-defense’ as the US does is grotesque. A ceasefire and end of the siege are important but insufficient.

A solution, whether it’s one state or a real two state, must center economic and political justice and equality for all, especially Palestinians. This includes the right of Palestinians to return to inside the 1948 Israeli imposed borders.

Educate yourselves, friends, and family about Israeli settler-colonialism. It’s catastrophic.  Our responsibility is to do what we can to change fundamentally, U.S. policy. We are the majority and beginning to have an impact.  Khader Hamide, a Palestinian activist said, “Palestinians are losing their land, and their lives and Israelis are losing their humanity.” This is even more true today.

A common slogan among Jewish people is “Never Again”, usually limited to only Jewish people. The holocaust against Jewish people was horrendous but so is the holocaust against people of African descent, Native and indigenous people, and now Palestinians.

Let us mean “Never Again” for Everyone. This is the moral and strategic position.

Stop the war on Gaza, end Israeli apartheid and occupation!

Solidarity!

Jewish Anti-Zionism

STOP the War on Gaza and U.S. Support for Israel!

 A Jewish anti-Zionist Perspective

By Peter Bohmer, October 17, 2023

Economics for Everyone

I want to share how my background causes me to support the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation of all of Palestine including Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Since 1967, I have actively opposed the U.S. military aid and ideological support for Israel, and in solidarity with Palestine.

I mourn the deaths of 4500 people murdered in southern Israel and Gaza over the last 11 days, over 1400 in Israel, mainly Israeli civilians by Hamas and over 3000 in Gaza and growing numbers in the West Bank by the Israeli military, the IDF. Let us take a moment to reflect on this death of human life and the injuries of many more.

My parents and grandparents were Jewish from Central Europe, My parents grew up in Vienna, Austria. The German military and Nazis were welcomed by much of the Austrian population when they invaded in spring 1938. Germany immediately annexed Austria. My dad was 22 when he was incarcerated in Vienna by the Austrian Nazis and frequently  beaten. According to Nazi records, he was imprisoned for being “political” and Jewish.  He was released after four months. My parents escaped a few days later to France.

They wanted to leave Europe because they expected an imminent Nazi invasion of France. They were denied visas to Australia and Canada because of these countries’ antisemitic immigration policies. After a few rejections, my parents were admitted to the U.S. in June 1939. My grandfather and at least four other relatives were gassed to death in concentration camps.

Antisemitism, as anti-Jewishness, has been prevalent all over Europe and to a lesser but real extent in the U.S.  It continues today although less systemic. Many Jewish people as a response have seen their liberation and fair treatment as integrally connected with the liberation of all people, e.g., Karl Marx, Rosa Luxemburg, the many socialist Jews, in the civil rights and anti-apartheid movement and in the Palestine Solidarity movement.

Because of this history of oppression, I grew up believing Jewish people would not oppress others. I was naïve. A majority of Jewish people in Israel and around the world support a Jewish State.  Palestinians are systematically displaced from their land and are treated less than equal within the Israeli state formed in 1948; and less than human on the land Israel seized in 1967: the West Bank Gaza, and East Jerusalem. When you take someone’s land or enslave them, like what also happened in the U.S. there is a strong tendency for the dominant group to justify it.

On Facebook recently and for years, I have been accused of being antisemitic, I am anti-Zionist which is fundamentally different. The Netanyahu led Israeli government, many leaders of the Republican and Democratic Party and some Jewish groups in the U.S. try to undermine criticisms of Israel and support for Palestinian self-determination and justice by calling criticism of Israel, antisemitic.

Some criticisms of Israel are motivated by hatred of Jews, e.g., white supremacist groups in the US, and we should never ally with them in opposing the Israeli occupation. Zionism means a Jewish State where the laws, educational system and major institutions favor Jewish people and that Palestinians are second class citizens or non-citizens.

Zionism also means the right of return for anyone around the world who is Jewish while hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and their millions of descendants who were expelled from Israel’s 1948 created borders are not allowed to return.  A Jewish dominated State where Palestinians have lived for millennia is Jewish supremacy. Moreover, the Israel government has supported many anti-Jewish and antisemitic governments such as Orban in Hungary, today, and provided arms to the military dictatorships in Guatemala and Argentina in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Israel was furthering US foreign policy in these actions, one important reason why the U.S. has been such a supporter of Israel. While opposing antisemitism, don’t allow Zionists to define you as antisemitic. My perspective is similar to Jewish Voices for Peace, jewishvoicefor peace.org.

It is not an exaggeration to call the Israeli occupation, apartheid; and Gaza an open-air prison becoming a concentration camp.  Violence and displacement by Israeli settlers and the IDF against Palestinians has increased in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as has the blockade of Gaza. Groups such as Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the U.N. Secretary General, and an Israeli human rights group, B’Tselem use these terms although we seldom find them in the mainstream media or by U.S. politicians.

This does not justify the killing of Israeli civilians in southern Israel but let us understand its causes did not begin with what happened on Saturday, October 7th but with British colonialism and the 1948 Nakba (forced removal of Palestinians). Israeli’s revenge, mass murder, starvation and collective punishment of Palestinians including the16 year blockade of Gaza is a war crime that is wrong and will not bring security to Jews.

All Israeli governments, Labor, Likud, Netanyahu, and the current mass Israeli movement that has opposed the Netanyahu’s government increasing authoritarianism towards the Jewish population, are rejectionist. This means they do not accept Palestinians as equals, neither in the past nor present.

Whether it’s one state or a real independent two state solution, it must center economic and political justice and equality for all, especially but not limited to Palestinians.

Since 1967, the U.S. has unconditionally supported the illegal, immoral occupation of the West Bank, the annexation of East Jerusalem, and made more than a dozen vetoes in the UN security council of resolutions critical of Israel. The U.S. provides $3.8 billion dollars of military aid annually and has committed to continue this through 2029.

Rather than supporting negotiations, and opposing the massive bombing of Gaza and an Israeli invasion, the Biden administration is sending Israel additional weapons and two aircraft carriers in support of Israel, and giving Israel carte blanche to invade Gaza and commit the probable murders of tens of thousands and further ethnic cleansing.

The more we actively support the end of the Israeli occupation and U.S. support for Israel, the more we have the right to criticize the Hamas killings and taking of 200 hostages.

Israel claims a Zionist State is the only security for Jews around the world. Long run security cannot be based on the oppression and domination of another people. People will rise up. Israel is developing formal relations with and recognition by some of the conservative Arab states, the Abraham Accords.  That will not further security in the long-run, as the population in Egypt, Morocco, the UAE, etc. support the Palestinian struggle.

The Hamas attack of October 7th shows the limits of this immoral strategy of Israel. Even if Israel destroys Hamas, oppression breeds resistance and Israel will eventually be defeated. Moreover, this security state strategy will further move Israelis to the right.

For moral and political reasons, the security of Jewish people and Palestinian people requires the end of the Israeli occupation, the end of U.S. support for Israel, and justice for all Palestinians.

The goal of a Palestinian organization that is socialist, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, DFLP, is “a people’s democratic Palestine, where Arabs and Jews live without discrimination, a state without classes and national oppression, which allows Jews and Arabs to develop their national culture together”.

Let us do what we can in the streets, in letters and lobbying to oppose U.S. military aid to Israel including the recent increase and ending  U.S. support for Israeli aggression. Support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement against Israel.

Educate yourselves, friends, and family about the colonization of Palestine. It is a horrible situation for Palestinians, especially in Gaza and it is our responsibility to do what we can to change U.S. policy so that it is more in line with popular sentiment all over the world including declining U.S. support for the Israeli occupation.

I often hear that Palestine-Israel is too complicated to take a position on, or there is no solution because Israelis and Palestinians are equally victims.  An insightful response in a talk at Evergreen by Khader Hamide, a leading Palestinian activist who the U.S unsuccessfully tried to deport for 20 years: “Palestinians are losing their land, and their lives and Israelis are losing their humanity.”

A common slogan among Jewish people and Israeli leaders is “Never Again”, which they usually restrict to Jewish people. The holocaust against Jewish people is horrendous but so is the holocaust against African people, Native and indigenous people, and others. Let us mean by “Never Again” for All People. That is both the moral and strategic position.

Thank You!

Dan Leahy

Dan Leahy Presente!

Comrade, Dan Leahy!

by Peter Bohmer,

(Given at Dan’s memorial, April 15, 2023)

Dan Leahy is a close friend, a community leader, committed to furthering labor and other social movements, for global justice and to a world beyond capitalism. I will talk today about Dan’s interconnected roles as an inspiring and effective teacher and organizer.

Both as a teacher and organizer, he demonstrated his respect for working class people, his deep understanding of the current conjuncture, excellent preparation and follow through, sharp political economic analysis and great strategic thinking and interconnected practice. When Dan taught, he was teaching organizing skills and when he organized, he was teaching and sharing his in-depth knowledge of history and social movements.

I had the honor of teaching with Dan at the undergraduate and graduate level at the Evergreen State College five times between the early 1990’s to 2008. He was student centered, always prepared, often sharing charts that succinctly focused on what was most important, e.g. his chart on different labor movements. His mentoring of first-generation college students was exemplary. Dan made a major difference in many, many students lives.

Let me share our teaching together in fall, 1999 through winter, 2000, a 32 credit program called, Political Economy and Social Movements with 75 students. Cynthia Adcock was the third faculty member.

Dan had researched the World Trade Organization (WTO), reading like he always did its key documents. He concluded it was a global bill of rights for transnational corporations, Dan did the same careful reading when we taught a class on NAFTA, six years earlier.

Usually in this academic program, we focused on the U.S. in the fall and the global political economy in the winter. For that year, Dan suggested so that students would understand the significance of the WTO, we switched the order. We studied the global economy including the WTO in the fall, so our students would be prepared to understand and protest the coming WTO ministerial, which was scheduled to begin November, 29th, 1999.

For our students but even more so for organizers against the WTO in the Pacific Northwest, Dan conceptualized and took the lead in organizing a weekend conference on the WTO and its destructive impact, such as further reducing democracy.

He prepared like he always did for this and other conferences, information packed loose-leaf binders for the more than 150 attendees, and the conference like all the ones Dan organized, ran smoothly and the learning was impressive.

We brought our entire class up to Seattle for that historic week at the end of November 1999. Dan had found places for students to stay and shared with the students, detailed plans for maximum learning but also safety. He did this also learning from students.

The handout, Dan wrote included the daily list of protests but also events that supported the WTO and we asked students to go to at least one pro WTO event, which were being organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Microsoft and other big business in Seattle.

On the first day, which was the most successful one in stopping delegates from getting to the hall where they were meeting, I saw students and young people who had been at the Evergreen teach-in, a month earlier, argue with arrogant EU delegates who assumed the ignorance of young protesters. They were wrong, This reminded me of Dan’s wisdom and strategic thinking in organizing the teach-in. We blocked their entrance to WTO which eventually was cancelled.

Many of us were arrested, tear-gassed and clubbed and Dan supported us  with his continuing presence and financially. Dan is very generous.

So that participants in that intense week of actions could reflect and debrief on what was has been called the Battle in Seattle and made news around the world, Dan rented and filled the Capitol theater the following Friday. The speakers were organizers and participants in these significant actions, which significantly raised awareness of neoliberalism and the WTO. Seattle became known around the world for our direct action against the WTO.

To preserve the historical record, which is important to Dan, he hired Stephanie Guilloud, to collect and edit and publish, Voices from the WTO, reflections by participants in this powerful action. (added after talk)

This is just one important example of  Dan’s thinking through the many steps to make  this a successful action, dotting all of the i’s and crossing the t’s.

Dan has been a truly good friend for 35 years. I miss him. I have learned so much from Dan. So have many others. Let us honor Dan Leahy by organizing at a local, national and global level for a socialist world.

My Talk at the No War with Russia over Ukraine Rally, February 5th, 2022

No War with Russia

My talk at the “No War with Russia over Ukraine Rally”,

by Peter Bohmer, February 5th, 2022

I am Pete Bohmer, a member of Economics for Everyone, the sponsor of this rally.

This rally is part of a national day of anti-war actions coordinated by Code Pink, codepink.org.

The situation between the United States and Russia over the Ukraine is very dangerous. Russia is a capitalist country led by an authoritarian leader, Vladimir Putin. Russia has increased its military build-up to 130,000 troops near their 1300-mile border with Ukraine.  This is wrong. Yet, from the mainstream media and our leaders, Russia is the only aggressor and threat to peace in Ukraine.  That is far from the reality.

The United States has consistently intervened in other countries, e.g., has tried to overthrow the government in Cuba for over 60 years. In 1990, the leader of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev made an agreement with Secretary of State, James Baker, who was also a close confidant of then President, George H.W. Bush.  In return for Gorbachev agreeing to the unification of Germany and permitting the independence of many of the nations within the USSR, there would be no NATO expansion east of Germany, nor stationing of European and US troops east of Germany.  Ukraine was specifically mentioned as part of this agreement.  This request from Gorbachev for the neutrality of countries in Eastern Europe needs to be put in the context of the Soviet Union losing 20 million people from the Nazi aggression and wanting to have a buffer between Germany and Russia.

In direct violation of this agreement  in the late 1990’s, NATO expanded into Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic and the Baltic countries. Today, there is a major military buildup of Russian troops near the Ukraine but there has also been an increase of 3000 U.S. troops to Poland and Romania with likely increases to come and  increased sales of weapons to the Ukraine. Somewhat ironically, Ukraine’s government, led by Volodymr Zelensky, seems less worried about a Russian invasion than U.S. leaders like Biden and National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan.

                                                                                 Negotiated Settlement!

There could and should be a negotiated settlement along the following lines. A clear statement by NATO that it will not offer membership to Ukraine in the present or future and that there will be no stationing of U.S. or troops from European countries in the Ukraine. In return Russia is likely to accept the sovereignty of the Ukraine, agree to not intervene in its domestic politics, to not invade and to significantly reduce Russian troops from Ukraine’s border.  Of course, Ukraine should be part of this negotiated settlement.

Does this violate the Ukrainian right to self-determination? Perhaps, a little bit but let us not forget that NATO is a military and expansionist alliance led by the U.S. Moreover, sovereignty does not include the right to militarily intervene in other countries which is a central part of NATO. In the longer run, we should demand the dismantling of NATO which is a cold war relic.

A war would be catastrophic for Ukraine and beyond.  Negotiations and diplomacy including in a central way, Ukraine, is the only way forward. A neutral Ukraine is one possible desirable outcome of a negotiated settlement. France is currently making that proposal. Let us demand the United States end its threat of sanctions and military escalation and be a part of a negotiated and peaceful solution. The sanctions being proposed by the U.S. Congress would seriously harm the Russian people and could be put into effect even short of a Russian invasion.

Why is our focus on the United States and less on Russia?  We live here and we can have more influence on U.S. actions than on other countries. U.S. actions are partly our responsibility.  Moreover, by people and an anti-war movement here reducing U.S. escalation and supporting peace efforts encourages those in Russia seeking peace and increases their credibility in demanding Russia de-escalation. Each willeinforce the other.

How likely is war between Russia and the United States over Ukraine?

I don’t know how likely it is, but we are more likely to be effective in stopping a war before an actual war starts. There were massive protests before the 1991 Gulf War (the first war against Iraq), the 2001 U.S. War against Afghanistan and especially the 2003 war against Iraq. Once the U.S. went to war the protests and anti-war movement declined. Also, even if no nation is planning to go to war, there is a danger of unintended consequences of specific actions by the U.S. or Russia, being misinterpreted and a war that is not planned for, occurring.  Moreover, besides the destruction of Ukraine from a war fought on Ukrainian territory, there is even the slight danger of a nuclear war. Let us not take this chance and make part of our daily life and groups we are part of –active opposition to United States escalation of this dangerous situation and a call for diplomacy and a negotiated settlement.

Building an Anti-War Movement

Let us educate ourselves, our friends and communities, our workplaces and fellow students about the history and current danger with regards to the Ukraine. Let us build an anti-war movement in support of diplomatic solutions along lines I have mentioned: No expansion of NATO into the Ukraine.  Ukraine is the immediate danger but also let us also educate and build an antiwar movement in the not too distant future for cutting U.S. military spending, that is against the growing U.S. military build-up and threats against China, that demands the ending of sanctions against Iran, Cuba and Venezuela, and for ending U.S. military support for Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and for ending military sales to those countries.  As already mentioned, let us in the future also call for the dismantling of NATO.

In conclusion, in building an anti-war movement in Olympia and beyond, let us build one that also makes central calls for ending injustice and oppression in the U.S. and links up with organizations and social movements involved in these struggles.

For example, let us connect the anti-war movement to the demand for freedom for Leonard Peltier.  He was a leader of the American Indian Movement (AIM) and has been a continuing inspiration to Native Americans and so many others. Leonard has spent 45 years in prison for supposedly killing two FBI agents in 1975 who invaded the Pine Ridge Reservation. His trial was a huge misjustice with coerced and perjured witnesses.  The prosecution withheld evidence that could have cleared him. Leonard Peltier has Covid although he had requested a booster shot that he was not given. The conditions at the Federal Prison where he is incarcerated in Coleman, Florida are inhumane.  Leonard has diabetes and high blood pressure and other comorbidities with Covid and is 77 years. Let us demand President Biden grant him clemency on medical and humanitarian grounds.  With enough pressure, this is a winnable demand.

More generally, let us connect U.S. militarism and imperialism, not only to its costs, but also   to “race”, gender and class oppression at home and to an exploitative capitalist system that we need to replace and transform into a participatory socialist system.

Thank You.

No War with Russia over the Ukraine: Diplomacy Not War

Here is the leaflet we are handing out as part of the national day of action against U.S. escalation. Our rally is Saturday, February 5th from Noon to 1 by the State Capital, on the  street , Capital Way (just south of Union) in Olympia, WA. Join us!

NO WAR WITH RUSSIA OVER UKRAINE!

We are on the brink of a massive war between the US and Russia – two nuclear-armed states.
The time to speak out is NOW!
We are here on February 5, 2022 to demand an end to the drumbeat of war with Russia over Ukraine! President Biden has just sent 3000 US troops to countries on the border with Ukraine and near Russia.

Let us do what we can to stop the growing escalation and threat of a war on Ukrainian soil and possibly beyond, between Russia and the U.S.  The Ukrainian people would pay a horrible price. The dangerous escalation at the Russian/Ukrainian border standoff intensifies.  Biden is also considering sending more warships and aircraft and has already delivered more “lethal aid” to Ukraine.  The $500 million Congress is set to pass through a fast-track vote could and should be used on communities, climate and needs at home. The Pentagon has said that there is the possibility of sending as many as 50,000 troops!
We do not support the Russian massing of troops on the Ukrainian border nor their annexing by Russia of Crimea in 2014.  However, not mentioned by the Biden administration nor most of the U.S. media, is the failure of the U.S. government to live up to its promise made in 1990 by then-Secretary of State James Baker to Russian leader, Gorbachev, that NATO would expand not “one inch to the East” and that the Ukraine would not become a part of NATO.  Since 1999, NATO has expanded to include numerous countries, including some that border Russia. Rather than dismissing out of hand the Russian government’s current insistence on a written guarantee that Ukraine will not become part of NATO, the U.S. government should agree to a long-term moratorium on any NATO expansion. Russia and its President Putin have offered to deescalate the situation if Ukraine remains a neutral country and does not become part of the U.S. led and dominated military alliance, NATO.

We live in the United States, so our main responsibility is challenging the U.S. military buildup. Moreover, by organizing in the U.S. against U.S. military escalation and threats to go to war with Russia, and instead, in favor of diplomatic solutions, we are encouraging groups in the Ukraine and Russia who support peace and who are against the growing militarization of the situation. It will increase their credibility and influence. The U.S.  military escalation and sending of troops to Poland and Romania lead to justification in Russia for their military escalation.

The only solutions are diplomatic ones. Let us end the forever wars of the United States, the U.S military buildup, and the continued growth of military spending. Let us stop the danger of a major war between two nuclear powers.

Join this rally to demand: DIPLOMACY, NOT WAR;

WAR IS NOT GREEN; NO US/NATO AGGRESSION.

NO MORE WARS FOR CORPORATE PROFIT; $$ FOR HUMAN NEEDS, NOT WAR!

This is a peaceful, nonviolent event.  Masks & distancing, please.

This rally coincides with activities around the country, led by Code Pink to resist the normalization of war and demand that not a single bullet or gun be sent to Ukraine, and no troops be sent to Europe.                Diplomacy not war!
