Assistant Vice President, Teaching & Learning
Valencia College
Orlando, Florida
As the Assistant Vice President for Teaching and Learning at Valencia College, I have the pleasure of leading the college’s faculty and instructional development programs, the broad strategy for online/hybrid teaching and learning, and the development and implementation of strategic teaching and learning initiatives. I have been proud to serve students at Valencia for more than 18 years in a variety of capacities, including part-time faculty member, tenured faculty member, program chair, and administrator.
Throughout my career, I have been involved in the development and expansion of Valencia’s comprehensive, competency-based faculty development programs, the advancement of program learning outcomes assessment, extensive curriculum development, and the implementation of quality improvement and excellence initiatives across two-year associate of arts and career technical education programs. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to consult with colleges and organizations across the country on issues related to leadership development, pathways for student success, faculty development, student learning outcomes assessment, strategic planning, and initiatives to improve teaching and learning.
