The relationship among students and faculty is filled with opportunities for mutual growth and learning. How do we tap into that potential in ways that also tend to students’ unique experiences, talents and struggles in our diverse classrooms? In this session we will explore the role of formative assessment in improving student learning and creating more equitable outcomes. This session will introduce concepts of formative assessment, and then allow time to brainstorm strategies for including students and faculty as partners in a community for learning.
